Sunny
Total Time = 5h 13m 5s
Overall Rank = 535/
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 16/120
Pre-race routine:

Up early at 4:30am in order to get a ride down to the TA with the gang. Scott and I grabbed our breakfast that we had brought and walked over to Matt and Sandra's hotel to meet them to go down to the TA
Event warmup:

No real warm up. Waiting around the swim start with Scott, Matt, Sandra, Keith and Pamela waiting for each of us to go off in our waves.
Swim
  • 29m 21s
  • 2143 yards
  • 01m 22s / 100 yards
Comments:

Great swim for me due the current. There is no way I could swim this fast on my own. What an advantage!!
What would you do differently?:

I'd try to start more toward the middle of the group. I started on the outside closest to the shore and had to swim across to get the middle of the rive where the current was stronger
Transition 1
  • 03m 25s
Comments:

Not a bad transition...we had a pretty good run from the water to the our bike racks. Everyone had that run though so it was no big deal. Loved the wetsuit strippers. I wish they were at every race. Maybe I can hire my own???
What would you do differently?:

Nothing...it went smooth.
Bike
  • 2h 57m 57s
  • 56 miles
  • 18.88 mile/hr
Comments:

I am so glad we rode the course a month before because I knew exactly what to expect. The course was fun...I passed a lot of people and got passed by a lot of people!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing in particular...I just need to keep working on my biking!
Transition 2
  • 01m 46s
Comments:

Another smooth transition
What would you do differently?:

I need to get the shoe laces that have the squeezy things on them so I don't have to worry about tying my laces.
Run
  • 1h 40m 39s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 07m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

Great run for me. I was hoping to do 2 hrs so the 1:40 is far better than I had hoped to do. I couldn't ask for a better run. I felt pretty good the entire way.
Post race
Warm down:

Saw a few friends at the finish and just sat down. I felt nauseated after the race. I was probably a little dehydrated.

Event comments:

This was a great race to participate in! It was well organized and everything ran smoothly.

Overall I had fantastic race. My goal was sub 6 so I couldn't be happier. I am hoping this race was a result of my IM training. I am both nervous and looking forward to seeing how I do at IMAZ!!

I would recommend this race to anyone!
