Subject: Can someone recommend a good triathlete magazine?

I subscribed to Runner's World when I started running and it really helped me out with some technique and etiquette issues. Now that I'm going to be doing tri's next year, I'd like to bone up in a similar way with a magazine catered to triathletes. I suppose I could just go to the bookstore and pick one but I'd like to subscribe to one respected magazine. Thanks.

There is pretty much Triathete (the better one in my opinion) and Inside Triathlon. If your lucky, your book store might carry 220, an UK tri magazine which is pretty good as well.

I've found that Triathlete Magazine is pretty good. Some pretty good information. That's all i have read so far.

Triathlete Mag is ok and entertaining, but just with Runner's World, you will eventually start reading the same ol', same ol' training and so on. Of course, Triathlete gives you Tinley, which some of us really like (while others hate his writing).

Inside Triathlon has some very in-depth articles and, since its revamp, startlingly good photography. Frankly, the pictures are gorgeous. Triathlete Magazine and Inside Triathlon are published by the same company - Of Competitor Inc.

Eventually (whenever you want to read more in-depth material), you might consider specialized running and biking magazines. For example, I prefer Running Times magazine for their articles and focus more than Runner's World.

I pick up a magazine every now and then if there's a particular article I want to read, or to look at the pictures for some motivation (especially in the dead of winter!), but IMHO, none are really worth subscribing to. You can really get all the info you need on the internet.

During the summer when I was going on holiday I went to our local Chapters up here in BC and they have a really decent selection of Triathlon magazines. There were about 5 different magazines to choose from but I went with Triathlete (US mag) & 220 Trialthon magazine (UK Mag).

Not sure if it's being British myself and can relate better or sub-consciously because I miss home but I found I enjoyed 220 a bit more than triathlete. So much so that I've bought every issue since.

Maybe check out the websites of the magazines (as most run a small section of content from the magazine online) and see which one you find more interesting and useful.
