I was looking to get into a Tri Club, I am in the Barrington Area.

Also - I know this is early - does anyone know of good places for OWS next summer in the area.

THANKS!

Multisport Madness is out of Crystal Lake so that is pretty close to you. In the summer every Wends. there is an open water swim in Lake in the Hills at about 6 at night. Multisport Madness has open water swim in Crystal Lake I think it is every Tuesday and Thursday mornings at about 5 am. I also believe there are open water swims in Lake Zurich on Saturday mornings and I think that is through a group called the Otters. I did the Crystal Lake swims once and the Lake in the Hills swims a couple times. I am pretty sure of the days but I forget stuff so fast these days.

All the areas Moab mentions, and I will add Silver Lake.  Its just north of Cary, so a little closer to you, as well.  Groups are there around 5:30/6am in the morning pretty much every day of the week during the season.  A lot less right now

Prarie Dog tri club that Jen Harrison runs out of Prarie Stone. Not a very big group though so multisport madness might be a better bet for you.

I heard Schmize was going to start a tri group in Algonquin/Crystal Lake (hint hint hint).

I work out at Prarie Stone and have heard that the multisport club is OK but nothing.

Have you heard anything else? I understand that Jen is pretty good.

Hey, check out the Buehler Y.  They have a Ytri club that is free to join and it's a GREAT group of people that train together (OWS, rides, runs....)  There's also an AWESOME running club called Alpine runners that meets at LZHS every Sat morning and at Paulus park on Tues evenings.

Otters are over for the season, but will be starting up again when it warms up.

There is a great tri club associated with the Buehler YMCA.  It's relatively new but growing every year.  This year it will be open to triathletes who are not YMCA members.  Very small membership fee and discounts at local vendors.   Free coaching, and group activities.
