Is this just a bad idea or a horrible one?? I had already signed up for a sprint this weekend and an Oly next weekend early in the season. Got talked into Augusta 70.3 (decent showing first time out 5:24) and would like to do a race this Sunday that my brother and friends signed up for. Could I just take it easy on the race and ride at my slowest friend's pace or should I just scrap it all together (this is a mini sprint 250yd pool, 10 mile bike, 5k. . .). Scrapping the Oly is out of the question. . .the pain is already 80% gone in my quads and I can walk down the stairs essentially without any difficulty. I know the response will be mixed but any feedback will be helpful!!

It's a mini-sprint....have FUN and do it with your brother and friends!!!  Just think of it as a nice recovery workout...

I'd do it.  It's just a mini sprint.  You probably have harder morning workouts...  I probably just wouldn't totally let the legs fly on the 5k.  I'd treat it as a more of a short tempo run.
