I am now completely frustrated! My scales tell me that I am still at 272lbs. I went to the doctor yesterday to get prescription renewed and he was very happy with my progress. Blood pressure down, medication reduced AND according to his scales I am at 266lbs!
I know that I have said before that absolute numbers are not as important as changes, but I am so frustrated that my home scales are showing no change.
I know I am getting fitter and stronger, I know my clothes size is changing, why isn't my scales showing the change. I've said it before and I'll say it again... the bloody things are conspiring against me.

Officially.....

Last Week: 272lbs

This Week: 272lbs

Difference: 0lbs

Iron Gus have you measured waist, hips, thighs, etc to see what is changing?  If not might want to start..

Sailing, I've slack in that regard. I do have some measurements from a couple years ago when I was about the same size as when I started this challenge. Comparing those would be interesting, and I expect, very satisfying.

It's just that my goals have been weight-loss focussed and everything seems to be based on weight in some form or another (BMI for example), so it is frustrating me no end.

I will take some measurements however and see what the improvement has been.

Hi Team,

Last week: 161
This week: 160.4

My body REFUSES to go down to 159. Oh well, just gotta keep trying :-)

So I wont be weiging in for the rest of the month. I am off to Liberia for hotel living and unknown hotel diet (sigh!) I will try to do my best to eat right but I just have no idea what kind of food I will be eating for the next three weeks. So my next weigh in will be on October 31, the day I get back :-) Good luck everyone.

Hello Teammies! Thanks for all the support! So I looked it all up on the internet just so I know what my GP is on about once we meet to discuss the treatment. Obviously having incompetent veins (both my self and my veins are still insulted - incompetent!!) means that my blood is pushed back towards my ankles and that is obviously not an ideal situation. Treatment involves compression socks/ stockings, avoiding sitting down or standing up for too long, keeping your legs up or at least moving them every so oftern. It seems that the worst case scenario are vargas veins and severs ulcers. But once that is combined with my pulmonary embolisim, well that doesn't look so good then. I hope to know more once I talked to my GP. For now I'm just gonna wear my compression socks while at work and try to ignore it- maybe it'll go away

Also happily reporting that my chocolate/sweets cravings decreased! Evil things those sweetes!

I like the idea of having spend a lot of time keeping my legs up, which I find to be a very comfortable position.  It sounds like you should really avoid being on airplanes or being in situations where you are more or less physically "trapped."  Anyway, this doesn't sound like a particularly fun situation and I hope they figure out a treatment regimen which gives you back your life.

I've never been diagnosed with "incompetent" veins, but I HAVE recently started wearing compression socks to help with recovery, especially from runs. I have to say, they really seem to help! So look at the compression socks as a training tool! (And putting your feet doesn't sound so bad, either!)

Well gang I failed at my task today.  All I had to do was 40 pull ups 80 push ups and 80 squats in 5 minutes or less and it took me 6:56.  Maybe I can blame it on the 8 mile bike ride.

Well, that is one way to assess failure.  What was requiring you to do all that in 5 minutes or less?  It sort of sounds like a Crossfit-type test, but I know you do P90X, not Crossfit.  Was that a P90X thing?

That is the saddest thing I have ever read.

So, you do both simplefit (whatever that is) AND P90X?  Man, you must have some muscles.

Isn't it the truth...sigh.  Simplefit is sometimes referred to from crossfit and its website is www.simplefit.org.  I stopped doing P90X to do training for a marathon , but wanted to keep up some kind of strength training.

Still 166.8. At least not up, but as some of you have stated in the past "I hate losing the same 2lbs over and over".
