Veteran 455 Limerick, Ireland | Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY (Oct 09) Another New BOOginning After 2 months of working 7 days a week 10-12 hours a day and trying to train at the same time my body said enough this morning at 6:15am. I was planning to be in the gym for 7 to do my workout before the craizness starts again. My brain was all up, ok fairly awake anyway, but my body just said NO. I wasn't in pain or anything but I couldn't move a muscle. After a long consideration I decided to take the rest of the week off from my training (since I can't take time off work). Now this comes in the worst possible time for me as my "girly time" is just round the corner so food hormones are going through the roof and, to make things worse, I'm under so much stress now that I'm barely stopping myself from emotional eating. No, not eating, emotional binging. Will post my weight tomorrow morning as I forgot (or maybe subconsciously didn't have the courage) to jump on the scales Have a good Wednesday! I have been doing horrible on my diet, what should I do to stay motivated? Please help me... I hope this helps. The last time I felt the way you do (2 weeks ago) I ended up watching clips from Kona on YouTube. I watched a guy name Scott Rigsby run at Kona. I sat there and thought to myself, "I can change the weight, Scott can't change the fact he has no legs and yet there he is running the Ironman". For me this was a positive. I started re-designing the way I train as well as my nutrition to better fit my life style. What I found out is that I was pushing too hard. I gave my self a calorie intake that didn't leave me starving through the day and I eased up on my training by having a day that I just did some basic cardio (about 40min) I felt more relaxed at the end of the day and most definately less stressed. Best of all, I started dropping more weight. "Best of luck"! |

Master 1915 Hamilton, Victoria | Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY (Oct 09) Another New BOOginning I waited until now to post as my scales had not budged again this week and I just returned fromt he doctor where I showed (fully clothed) 266lbs. My scales at home, butt nekkid, I was 272lbs. My doctor even noted the weight loss since my last visit. BP is down so much that I am being taken off some medication and I have the go-ahead for the my tri in 10 days time - something he was reluctant about several weeks ago! What's up with my scales? Should I ditch them and go with the doc's scales? I am all for recording change as opposed to absolute figures but I have no confidence in the accuracy of my bathroom scales at home anymore and it is kind of depressing getting on them when I know there will be no change. Thoughts!?! |

Thoughts!?! I say, at least to start, that if you weighed right after the Dr. visit then I would adjust my scale down 6 lbs so that it matches his. Depending what you were wearing clothes are normally 4-5 lbs by themselves. Maybe go to a store and try a couble and see if they come closer to his scale (not nekkid). |

Gee Sailing, I just spat coffee over my keyboard! The thought of me stripping down to the buff in a store to try out scales was, somewhat disturbingly, a visualisation that came all too easily!! I am going to check out some new scales as I cannot adjust the set I have at home. I have always been unhappy with the resolution as well - no better than a pound. I have seen scales that, even at my weight, show a resolution of 1/10th of a pound. |

Master 1286 Mt Pleasant, SC | Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY (Oct 09) Another New BOOginning Hello Another good week for me. Down 1.5 to 253.5 This is without any training because of the knee injury. I am really sticking to my WW program. I did have tailgating at a football game this weekend but limited myself to 3 drinks. I even had a few chicken wings. So another good week for the big guy. I have an appointmetn with the orthr Dr next Monday so maybe I can get back to training in a few weeks. Kevin |

Master 1915 Hamilton, Victoria | Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY (Oct 09) Another New BOOginning I can't weigh in this week as I threw my old bathroom scales out last week. I was becomming too focussed on them and I need to focus on my Olympic Tri this weekend. I will get weighed for the end of month result and report in next week. I will have a new set of scales for next month's effort. |

Member 49 Cayman Islands | Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY (Oct 09) Another New BOOginning Hey guys, I know I have been absent for a couple of weeks, but it is mainly because I have had nothing to report!(and lack of time and laziness) After weighing in at 190 a couple of weeks ago, that is basically where I stayed...until this morning, 188lbs! So, now I have something to report. |

Veteran 455 Limerick, Ireland | Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY (Oct 09) Another New BOOginning So after taking last week off to rest and cheering on my friends who ran thier first marathon on Monday (4:24) I was all ready to hit the gym and "kick some a$$". And guess what - i got sick! So I'm sitting on the sofa, all sore, sneezy and generally crap but my appetite is as good as ever. Seems like all the weight loss I noted in the last 2 months will be gone. |
