Comments: I managed to shave off more than two minutes from my time last year, which I was satisfied with. This is always a really challenging course, and I felt I handled it well. Unlike past years, I didn't have to walk even a small portion of any of the steep hills. This is my favorite running race and I think I did it justice. Good time, as always!  Post race

Unlike past years, when it's always been surprisingly warm and sunny for October in Wisconsin, this year it was overcast, wet and 51 degrees. That probably actually made things a little easier.
In prep for this year's race, I ran the course twice just to try and build up a little strength, considering I had done next to zero speed work in prep for Ironman three weeks ago.
