Blue wave, bib#9189. Not nearly as fast as you guys, shooting for around 4:45. Training has not gone nearly as planned, but I really just want to finish my 1st full marathon without serious injury. Right now I am just trying to stay well, everyone around me seems to have a cold, that's the last thing I need.

Ready to run!  I hate tapering.  Doing it anyway, not liking it though.

That's probably where I'll be too, and there's nothing wrong with that - it's a great goal! Especially for your first marathon

Total dissapointment! ! !   My plan to run a 3:30 to BQ is not gonna happen.  7 Weeks into my 16 week training program I started having one muscle/tendon injury after another.  I finally realized 11 weeks into my training that I just needed to go to the event, run and enjoy a good day on the road.  A 3:30 was gonna take alot of work, and my training was going VERY well, but the high milage, and speed work finally started taking its toll.

Once I finally realized the BQ wasn't gonna happen, my mental state was quite depressed.  This past 5 weeks have been spent recovering and getting fat.

The body's much better and mental state has recovered, so now its all about having FUN.

Looking forward to the race.

About Boston. . . .    Maybe next year. . . .

Just want to say good luck to everyone and hope you hit your PR's and have fun.

I'll be there before 6:00a.m. tomorrow.  Made the mistake of getting there late last year and it was not cool haveing to sprint everywhere just to make it to the start.  I am going for the Full Mary again this yr and hoping for a 3:30 finish this time.

Hitting the bed in 20min.  Stay Hydrated!!!

A little ways after crossing under 610 on Woodway, I passed someone receiving CPR from a group of firemen / paramedics. I don't remember an ambulance, but I think they had a stretcher and some cases out. It was a pretty somber sight. They had his shirt off and were doing chest compressions. I was hoping to hear how things turned out, but there doesn't seem to be anything in the news or on the web site. Everyone I was around got pretty quiet after seeing that. Did anyone else see this or have any other info?

Here's some more info on medical issues during the marathon from the Chron:

Was that near Memorial park?  I passed an ambulance just as they were loading someone.  It was very eerie.

Yes, between 610 and the park. Thanks for posting the link, I was relieved to see that they were able to bring him around.
