Comments:

I did pretty good for only swimming 2 times this year which were only because those were my only 2 races. LOL. I was really tired though and was just kind of cruising along. My arms got really tired also.
Transition 1

Comments:

Since it was cold I decided to where arm warmers. It took a while to put them on because they were damp. I wiped my arms dry with a towel first but it still took a bit longer because it was wet. Wetsuit was stuck on heels. It took a while to get off also because I was dizzy and trying to get my balance when I bent over to take the wetsuit off.
What would you do differently?:

I still would have taken the extra time to put on the arm warmers cause it was worth it. Maybe next time it might be easier and faster to put on a jacket instead of some tight arm warmers.

Comments:

It took a a minute or two of me sitting up on my bike to get my arm warmers fully on. Course was really wet but I was still pleased with my time. Also at the end of the race I got my bike and realized I had a flat. Good thing it was a slow one.
Transition 2
  • 01m 4s
Comments:

This felt like my best T2. I felt really fast. I racked my bike, already had race number on from T1, put my shoes on, took helmet off, and picked up my hat and ran. It was great. I put a good amount of body glide on my shoes so I think that helped me put them on. I had the fastest time in T2. It was awesome. The next fastest was 1:07. I also kept my arm warmers on for the run.
What would you do differently?:

The only thing I would do different is to undo my chin strap while running with my bike.
Run
  • 20m 35s
  • 3.11 miles

Comments:

This was the best run I have ever had. The marathon training really showed in my race. I have been training really hard and it paid off. The first mile was really fast. It was in the low 6:00's and then I backed it off a little until the turn around. Then at the turn around I picked it back up and just slowly kept running faster and faster. This seemed to work out great for me. I was really really pushing it and I could feel it in my legs the last 1/2 mile. I didn't have anything left to throw in a sprint which was good becasue that means I gave it all I had. I took my arm warmers off during the first mile cause I started to get hot. This was the best run of tri carrer so far. I was really really excited.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.

Course: Course was really bumpy and rough. At about mile 6 or 7 there was a big climb and then a false flat and then another climb. This all lasted about 2 miles but I felt like it was a CAT 3 climb in the TDF. Shit it seemed like it lasted forever but I loved it. I love climbing. The rest was just a bunch of rolling hills.

Great race! Super fast splits especially considering no swim training.

Great race.  Looks like the bike to run for you was great. Thanks for the push on the bike I think you and I passed each other about 10 times.
