mr2tony - 2009-10-24 6:48 PM I never thought The Exorcist was scary. I saw Poltergeist in the theater when I was like 7, and lemme tell ya, that one freaked me the eff out to the point that I couldn't watch it for years. Now it doesn't scare me, but when I was a kid, yikes. I shall probably not see paranormal activity because I know I wont sleep after I do.

By far the scariest thing in that movie was that psychic.

X3...except the scariest part for me is that damn clown doll pulling the poor kid under the bed!  Holy mother, I still get creeped out watching that movie.

Oh that clown was just pure evil. And the part where the tree grabs the kic through the window? I bet that kid had to go through YEARS of therapy. Especially after his sisters died and his dad became coach of the Minnesota State football team!

Paranormal Activity was TERRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an absolute bore.  Nearly everyone in the theater we watched it at was laughing at the end and I heard several complaining about it and commenting on how they just wasted there afternoon.

It was slow to start and never really moved from there.  The wife and daughter see a lot of scary movies and they were bored too I'm more of a chicken sh*t when it comes to scary movies and I kept expecting something big to happen and would even set the popcorn down at times, then nothing but a thump in the night.  My son is even more chicken then me and we had to talk him into going and he was bored and not scared in the least.   What a waste of money!

Of course there laughing all the way to the bank ripping people off for more then 62.5 million dollars on a low budget film.  I figure there reported 15,000 they spent on the movie was mostly used to pay off critics and pay people to post how scary it was on the web.

We were actually more freaked out by the previews of some future movies due to come out.

I saw the movie 3 weeks ago before it went nationwide. I thought the trailer that I saw a few months ago gave way too much away, including what should have been a more "jump out of your seat" moment from the end. I wasn't too impressed. It was ok, and the fact that most of it takes place in the bedroom makes it possible you'll be kind of freaked out when you go to bed that night, but I think the advertising in general is a ton of hype.

I went into it believing it would suck so it was above expectations for me.  I thought there was a lot more room for a story but that may have made it more "movie-like" and not as natural.  Who knows?

I rarely see movies which live up to their hype.  For instance, I saw Quarantine and though it was one of the worst movies of all time.

I agree with Rottieguy - super dumb! Waste of money and I LOVE scary movies... if it had been a true story, then yes, scary, but since it was just a movie, not scary at all!

I agree with Poltergeist, the Ring and the Exorcist - all scary. I'll add another - the original Omen - something about devil kids that gets me every time.

"Event Horizon" was very creepy!  I could not sleep well after seeing it for about a week.  Then I saw "Shall We Dance?" (the original in Japanese not the crap remake) and got some nooky from the gal who went with me.  Slept like a lamb that night.

About the scariest movie I can handle is "Army of Darkness"

I have a low humor threshold and enjoyed Ash saying key lines like...

"give me some sugar baby"

"Close the door, were you born in a barn? unh, yeah you probably were"

I don't do scary movies.

HA! My brother is always quoting stuff form Army of Darness. If I had a dollar ever time I heard this...

Ash: Well hello Mister Fancypants. Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things, right now: Jack and shi$... and Jack left town.

Scariest movie, I hate to admit would be Scream. The realism of the whole situation kills me. Also as far as perfection from a technical standpoint, just a masterpiece. For those of you who thought the Ring was scary I have to ask what you are smoking cause I want some. Terrible rip off of Asian cinema.

I absolutely agree, that movie stunk! The only good part was when the girl 'released' a bomb, and fluffed up the sheets! What a boring, predictable, poorly constructed movie. The only saving grace was when I heard they didn't spend much money making it, because if they did, that would have been scary!

Took the wife and saw it Friday.  Overall, not too impressed.  I was psyched about this movie and let down by the end.  I watched Lost Tapes (Vampire) on tv last night and actually thought it was scarier than this movie.

The Ring by far the creepiest movie IMO, to think something lurking out from your tele is just horrifying.. But, I also avid screener for a twist like Nicole Kidman's "the Others" and "the Village". You can never guess the ending.

Oh, I haven't seen paranormal activity.
