I got my new Kurt Kinetic trainer last night so this morning I had my first ride. I had on Morning Joe on the T.V. and rode for about an hour and I enjoyed it.  I could see some real possibilities for movies, football games, ect. I have plenty of good weather left in Richmond so I will be out as much as possible, but so many people on this site bash the trainer I thought I would post a positive experience if you are thinking about getting one.

X2. Got mine a month or so ago and really enjoy it Or rather, I enjoy being able to ride at odd times, like watching SNF/MNF with my wife relaxing next to me (this way I get to work out BUT still be a part of the family! haha). My knee seems to get a little sore from it though. Will have to watch that.  I sweat buckets though and feel that it gives a really solid workout!

I like my trainer.  Living in Minnesota, we have a few months that are less the optimal for out- door riding.

My only complaint is that after a few months, I desperately want to get outside and ride.   But with some creativity in workouts, I've been able to manage, and it feels great when I do get outside.

How's the noise level on these?  I've never used a trainer but I'm looking.  We have an old professional life cycle from some past life, but it's pretty loud and good for fitness but not at all like actual cycling.

1) I don't belive you.

Wbayek
They are pretty quiet, I had to turn the T.V. up just a little to hear it well. I would say about the same as a floor box fan.

I think the Kurt Kinetic is great.  I've had mine a year and it looks and works like it was new.  It does a pretty good job of simulating the feel of the road also.

I run a small fan when I'm on mine and in order to hear the TV I have to double the volume.  With no fan, I'd probably have to raise the volume 50%.  My kids are usually jumping around the room so that may have something to do with the increased volume also.
