Cracked Profile Design T2 arm rest

I've had two snap on me, but both were due to a crash. 

Yep, except mine shattered around the screws and fell off.     My LBS called profile and they shipped out a replacement for free.

Had this happen to me too- first one after about 3 months and the next after another 3. First one, I took my bike to my LBS and they called and got it sorted out. The second time I just called profile design and 3 days later a package with a metal replacement arrived. Awesome customer service (but I think there is something seriously wrong with those pads...they really shouldn't break). Apparently they don't make the plastic ones anymore so are sending out the metal ones instead. I think they weight a little more but won't break. I was impressed with the ease of getting them replaced through profile design's customer service number.

Different cracking problem with mine:  I had to add the plastic risers that come with the T2's to the armrests on my Kestrel and they (the risers) are of such narrow gauge that the elbow rests cracked around the riser.  I added metal washers to each to both support the crack and prevent future breaks.

Considered contacting PD...but I realized replacements would only crack like my first two did.  Didn't have that problem with the pair on my road bike, where I didn't need to add the risers.  Wish I'd known they have metal ones now...

You could probably still call and get the metal ones- they were very easy about it...no questions asked other than "what's your name and address". One thing to note is that the metal ones have 4 attachment holes and the plastic ones have 3, so it throws your position off by a little (i.e., severe upper back/neck pain my first time out). You just have to tweak it a little to get your position back.

Yes!  Wow, great timing.  I was on my trainer this morning and I got annoyed because mine cracked and my right arm slips off now.  I figured I was going to fab a plate to put behind it but if they now make metal replacements I may go that route. 

I had the same problem. PD was very easy to work with and sent me out a new set. It was my right side that cracked...I have a left side that I would be happy to send you (or your friend). If you are interested PM me the address and I will put it in the mail ASAP.

Mine cracked.  Threw my Scott aluminum  rest on.  Worked fine.

Add me to the "had one crack" list. Bike was only about 2 months old so my LBS swapped one from a bike off a floor model and told me they'd contact the Profile Designs and deal with getting the replacement.

Mine cracked and broke so I pulled out the epoxy and some fiberglass and reinforced the area.  So far it is working great.  I have some medal ones from an older set of bars but the plastic ones are much more comfortable as they give a bit.  With the fiberglass it is a bit stiffer but not as bad as the medal pads.

I used the warranty form on the PD website.  Do they respond to that or should I call them?  I believe I ordered my aerobars from Nashbar in July (this year).

From my experience, PD pays no attention at all to the warranty form on their website. I will try calling them again and see if I can get through. For those who got the metal replacements, how long did it take to receive the new ones and did they want proof of purchase or the broken ones back?

I've called them twice. First time I got a live person and had the metal replacements about 3 days later. Awesome (except I am having some issues with the metal ones being a little unforgiving). Second time I called I wanted to try to get the metal ones replaced with the plastic ones again (because of the unforgivingness of the metal ones and the fact that they have 4 attachment holes, not 3, which throws your position off a tiny bit...but enough) and got a machine (it was after hours). They called back that same day. So both times I got a person that day. No complaints from me at all in terms of getting a live person. In fact, I think it is just one person who mans the warranty phone so you might just have to leave him a message. Forget the form. Just call them. They were awesome on the phone.

My friend called PD yesterday and they are sending out new arm rests to him. I called today and they are sending me new arm rests; no questions asked except for where to send them.

Moral of the story: If your PD arm rests crack, call them for replacements. Don't do what I did and try and get it resolved by filling out the warranty form on their web site.

I didn't have a chance to call yesterday but when I got home I had an e-mail from them asking where to send replacements.  Their website warranty form works as well. 

yup, mine cracked too

Same here.   I emailed profile via the warranty website and included my address in the comment section.  The next day I got an email explaining that new aluminum units were shipping.  They also thanks me for including my address.

F19 left armrest plastic where to find???


I live in Ukraine. On my Jammer GT aerobar cracked f19 armrest. Hi is flexible. I by alloy 6061-t6 armrest. gradually getting used to alloy. Roads are rough . So pads are need extremely thick, such as f19 lux pads when alloy armrest.

Left Armrest f19 is send to Ukraine?
