Comments:

It was a really good run time for me, but the rest of the field was so fast that I felt really slow. Very discouraging run for me.

Transition 2

Comments:

Saw my coach in T2, he was done . . . but it was nice to see him and it encouraged me to fly out of T2 b/c he was watching.
Run
  • 31m 45s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 14s  min/mile
Comments:

Ran up big hill because my coach was watching, I really wanted to walk it. As soon as he was out of sight I walked a little. Eventually I found a groove and was able to run the rest of it with minimal discomfort. Still really frustrating to be passed by so many people.

Event comments:

This was a good race with a very talented field. I've decided that I don't really like duathlons . . . and don't ever want to do another one, but perhaps by this time next year I will have changed my mind.

Duathlons are very tough and after every one I say never again. I have done 4 already this year. Think of them as fast bricks that you don't get by yourself. Its also good practice for transitions and racing. You had a very impressive time and that second run must have been rough. Most of the duathlons around here are 2 10 2, that 5 K at the end has to be rough. Way to go!
