Hello ....

I am thinking about running the Historic half marathon in Ft Langley, in February, and wanted to ask if anyone had any comments, tips, or other useful insider info Smile

Info I might need to know, such as the likely weather (Feb so ccccold??), course difficulty and possibility of a celeb ghost sighting.....??

It will be my first ever at that distance ( I am still a 'virgin' at over 40!), though I have done two
10 ks, well over 20 years ago....  So, I will not be setting any course records for speed, and hope to not set the record for slowest ever.

Is anyone else already committed to running this one?

How soon will it sell out? (In other words, how long do I have to procrastinate, and then be able to say "I woulda run it, but it was already sold out...."? ) Wink

Is there anything else I need to know?

thanks
kelly

It's a pretty course, not terribly cold the last 2 times I ran it.  Long pants and short sleeves are about right for it.  The course has some long hills towards the end that can be a surprise if you're not used to that.  They're really pushing the fact that the First Half is not being run this year so they think they'll fill up early.  Discounted entry ends on the 31st of Oct.

My tip?  Bring some water with you.  The aid stations are few and far apart.

My whole family Is planning on doing this race as well. It is a very nice course. I think there might be some good times this year with the cancelation of the Vancouver Half. As for me I am planning on going hopefully sub 1:20.
