I'll be there! December 1st is the first day to register!

Some pics I took that day from volunteering last year! Trying to find some comparable hills around here and have found a few that equal the grade but not the length. Drove the course last year to the Westernports wall, and looks like alot of fun.

Aaron,

This is a really small race.  I'm not sure how many athletes they would allow, but I am certain that it way more than have EVER shown up.  Just a guess.

Go to the website for mo' info.

You'd be wrong. The Half-Iron sold out last year and the Oly distance race neared capacity.

Both races are capped at 400 each for safety reasons on the bike course.

Never too early! I will be there.

When I looked for this race on BT there were a couple to choose from. Since I didn't see a race link on the one I selected I'm guessing you selected a different one.

I'm gonna start one and we can have competing threads

Unless you're a true climber, 39-27 minimum.  Compacts recommended.  Many people are wising up and actually bringing triples, which makes clearing the Westernport Wall almost too easy and takes some of the fun out of the challenge.....

Bjorn Andersson rode a 42-25 and allegedly was spotted zig-zagging up Killer Miller......

Chris McDonald (2007 winner on slightly different (easier) course) comments on how he wishes he had more than his 27.  http://www.savagemantri.org/Testimonials.html

I ride out there frequently with compacts (34) and 12-27 and never feel guilty in my 34-27.
