I believe they're going to allow ~1000/1200 entries so it looks like it has a ways to go as it's only at a little over 300 at the moment.

You thinking of entering?

I really really want to but I am still struggling with the run. I thought I'd wait and see if I can get my k's up before I entered.  But they have the rollover this year so if it gets too close, I may enter anyway.  If I can't do it by 2011, I deserve to lose my money. LOL..

How ARE you anyway?

Swim as fast as you can in the water. Go as hard as you possibly can on the bike, leaving nothing out there on the course. Run las fast as you can for as long as you can!

Good luck!

Seed yourself properly in the swim. If you're strong, head to the front, if not, stick to the back or outside.

On the bike there's only one small climb but you end up doing it twice I think. Not a big deal. Long descent after that which is nice. Be prepared for any kind of weather (wind, rain, heat, etc.) no matter what they're predicting, it can change race morning. Don't go too hard on the bike, 5 mins too hard will loose you 10 mins on the run.

The run is a nice looped course with a lot of people around for support. This is where you hold nothing back. Know your nutrition needs before you go and stick to your plan, this applies to bike and run.

Thanks for the tips everyone...So Kari your pretty much saying go fast right? lol

I am feeling pretty confident with the swim and I'm working on the bike portion.  I love running but I am nursing an injury right now so it's been frustrating.

You've still got over 2 months so don't push it or you'll regret it! Concentrate on the bike for a bit while your running injury is recovering.

This IS Kari this time!  When you sign up, the race start is in the campground we stay at!  Come and introduce yourself and maybe even a get a spaghetti dinner out of it!  I don't race (yet!!) but I'm a great sherpa and look after the BT'ers that come up!!

Thanks, we are fine but it was nerve wracking tense for a few hours. We owe it all to the incredible work of our local fire dept.

There's a few photos in my album if you care to have a look.
