Subject: How is the Kal/Haven Trail for a Trail Run
Anyone over near Kzoo or a West Michigander have an opinion?  I'll be over in Portage/Kalamazoo for three days of meetings Mon-Wed and should get out of the Tuesday metting around 3pm.  I am running the Highland Rugged Man next Sunday and would like to get in a dirt run.  With daylight savings time happening tonight, I'll have to hustle over there to get a run in before dark.

I used to live over in the southern end of Portage and know that there are some short trails over of of Oosterhout (SP?), but do not recall them being all that long.  If the Kal/Have Trail isn't all that great, is there something else close.  THANKS!

I am pretty sure Kal/Have trail is a flat, crushed limestone path....

I biked it a number of years ago.  It was flat, mixed dirt and stone.  Straight but worth doing.

Thanks for the replys!  I did hit the trail early this evening for a 5 mile run.  I would have liked to have done more, but darkness was creeping in.  It was flat, but man it was beautiful.  All the leaves were down and made the ground like a multi-colored carpet.  Other than passing 1 guy on a bike, it was all mine.
