So we went to day to of the Torch relay here in Victoria and were lucky enough to be right at the point of an exchange of the flame.  We were there about 5 minutes before the Torch was coming so we got to talk with the girl waiting for her turn and asked if we could get a picture with her.  Well here is the picture it is weird how I felt taking the picture it is something about a moment like this that I will remember forever.  I just wish my son was a little older to understand what was really happening!!

So great! The Torch Relay went right by my street too. Someone gave my lovable 100-lb Golden Retriever two small flags: one Canadian, one Olympic. He carried them proudly up and down the crowd for about an hour. What a great event ... I'm so glad to have been able to see this. Probably not happen again in my lifetime!! Going to try attaching a picture; not really sure how to do it.

Awesome!  I work on the base and there there was a lot of hoopla about it coming on the base Friday.  I was stuck doing work though and didn't get the chance to see it.

True... lol... I've only been with DCC for 8 months though so all these crappy buildings are not my fault

I'm in the other DCC office.  Most of the DCC people in 575 deal with base initiatives (everything under 1 million), I work on the capital projects side.   We have about 20 people in building D29.  I'm in contract with a lot of BCEO guys for the stuff I'm doing though.

So cool!  I will be carrying the torch myself in just under 2 weeks, and I can't wait to be able to share that with my son (3) and daughter (1).  They probably won't understand what's happening at the time... but that's what pictures/videos are for
