Subject: Advice needed for shifters and brake lever
Hi guys...I just bought a brand new Profile Design Carbon X 1.5 aerobar. I looking for aero shifters and aero brake lever with INTERNAL ROUTING feature. My rear and front derailleurs a Shimano Ultegra. Brakes calipers are Tektro Carbon. Can you please indicate me which models will fit my set-up....I looked at Shimano Dura Ace 7800 BS78 shifters and Shimano Dura Ace BL-TT79 aero brake levers. Advice is welcome...Thanks a lot guys.

I have the same bars also, my bike is set up with sram shifters and brake levers. But if your on a buget check out Nashbar.com. you can pick up Dura ace shifters with the cables for $69 and nashbar brand brake levers for $24 a pairbut no cables. Cables are cheap.

Shimano only makes ONE 10-speed bar end shifter.  So you are pretty well limited there. Tongue out

Are the Sram shifters and brake levers compatible with my Ultegra derailleurs...?

Nope.

You may be able to get them to work through most of the gearing, but you would really need a SRAM derrailleur to get it to work right (you can still use a Shimano chain and cassette).

Edit: brake levers don't make a difference.  You can run whichever ones you want as long as they fit into the base bar.
