I believe that every season the men start out "weighing in" without shirts,  but later on start wearing shirts.  I know that I have mentioned this to my wife before.  My theory is that early on, the producers want you to be disgusted at how the contestants look, but as the season winds down, they want you focus on how good/fit they look, which would still be hard for almost all without a shirt.  I believe that the women will start wearing shirts to weigh-ins soon, too.


I thought they did it to create suspense on how much better they look at the finale.

Someone had posted that they weigh-in beforehand on a real scale and this one is for show.

I have become pretty good at guessing what will happen based on the order of the weigh-in's.

NBC puts them in the order of the most suspense. I had said I thought that Shay may be in trouble once I saw a 17 go up because if she needed a big number to make it they would have put her up there last.

I think they do the same for the votes - the order they get the votes makes no sense.


No wonder Allie was so sure Shay broke the record before they even weighed her, who would have even thought Shay was close to -17? They must not tell Bob or Jillian, I love thier reactions, those are not rehearsed!


I think this show really needs to start pushing PERCENTAGE of weight lost. Yes Shay lost 100 pounds the fastest - but she weighed 476 to start!!!

One day the BL will have a 1000 lb contestant & they will lose 100 in the first 3 weeks (sarc font needed)

BTW - I WOULD LOVE FEEDBACK - Jillian pulled Bob aside to talk about how they could work to keep Shay there, and at the detriment of some other contestant. This IS a GAMESHOW where there is a significant prize at stake. Isn't this "fixing" the show and ILLEGAL???

I finally watched this on my DVR.

bmass - 2009-11-11 9:03 AM Amanda has yet to miss a opportunity to say "America chose me."  Amanda, it was just you and one other.  The odds were 50/50.  Get over it.


This made me laugh!!  Amanda TOTALLY bugs me.  I'm so tired of the "america chose me comments" and she just doesn't seem to work as hard as the others, and she always seems to be sitting out for some reason or another.  I hope she's gone soon.  I know that sounds evil but she irritates me.
