Subject: RE: HR question kleinrider - 2005-06-01 2:35 PM I've read a few articles about your HR on the bike, most if not all want you to stay in zone 1 for a certain amount of miles... Now my zone 1 is 111-138, which would be CRAZY slow 14-16mph on flat land on the bike, as i am sure it is for most people. Am i reading these articles right they want you to go crazy slow at first (30-35 miles) then hit zone 2 and so on. Is the real goal to find a decent speed but stay in your (my) zone 1. This whole bike HR really confuses me. thanks in advance 14-16mph is "crazy slow" ? I train for hours in z1, which for me is about 15mph avg. My race pace on the bike is 20mph for a 1/2 IM distance race. I don't consider 14-16mph "crazy slow" Wait until race day for the speed on the bike...it'll come...trust me. I'm living proof (as is with Mike Pigg, Mark Allen, etc etc and so forth). Edited by Steve- 2005-06-01 5:29 PM
