Can anyone compare this course to the Serenbe race this past weekend (Hill Country 15K)?

it's a little harder than serenbe, mostly because you have less flat spots to recover

Don't wait much longer if you want to race this one. This one is over 50% full already.

Secret is out on this jewel of a race.

Since I"m not currently running, you ppl are going to have to give me a 1 mile head start! You'll probably catch me at mile 4 as I'm stretching out my IT band! Yell

It's so far from what I'd call technical that I would say you don't need any trail experience.

Arrgghh! I went to sign up today and it's full. The race closed on 12/1. Guess I'll have to be quicker next year.

And just to make this race a little different a couple of friends are going to camp out at the state park the night before this race.  It is far enough from my house that driving over to Cartersville the morning of the race would s-t-i-n-k ... so instead of worrying about that or going to the expense of a hotel room we are going to use my ghetto pop-up camper (which thankfully has heat and air).

We will arrive sometime Saturday afternoon, set-up camp, cook either in the camper and/or over a fire and generally drink a few beers because the race if probably more about fun than time relax on site.

There are a number of cabins, a yurt and rooms at their lodge if others want to join. in the feestivities.  To see what facilities are available, their cost and to reserve them, see: http://www.gastateparks.org/RedTop

Saw this in an email from Big Peach -

Did you sign up for the sold out Red Top Rumble? If so, save time on race day by picking up your race packet at BPRC Marietta on Thursday, Feb. 4th from 12:00pm-8:00pm, and Friday, Feb. 5th also from 12-8. And, to make pre-race packet pick up even better, we’ll give you a $10.00 savings coupon for your next pair of trail shoes!
