Subject: connecticut regional women's rides
Women from several Connecticut cycling clubs have gotten together and organized a series of once-a-month women's rides from Fall to Spring.  The rides are expected to be at a 16-18mph pace.  Each month, a different rider hosts from their town.  Contact individual ride leaders listed on the flyer for more information about any of the rides.  It's a good way to get to know some other women cyclists, ride new roads, and to have company on those Winter base-mileage rides.

November's ride is this Sunday, departing 10am from Camp Sloper in Southington.

More information about this and other upcoming rides in the series is available in the attached pdf flyer

Thanks for posting!  I'm going to have to check it out (although at this point I will be closer to 16 mph than 18!).

Who said anything about "comfortable?"

Kidding aside, they will be "no drop" rides, but I imagine that average pace will depend upon terrain and who shows up.  Cruising speed may be higher, but average speed will probably be on the lower end if it's at all hilly.  Everyone is in Winter mode by now.  Some of the women are FOP triathletes and road racers, but they share a common goal of wanting to encourage other women in the sport -- which is really the point of the rides.

Beth, if you aren't sure and would like some feedback, you're welcome to come ride with me some time, as I live on the shoreline and ride all through Winter.  Feel free to PM me.  In fact, I'll be doing a 4-hour endurance ride this Saturday if you'd like to join me for part of my ride.  I welcome company as long as it's someone who doesn't mind the easy, steady pace.
