Who all is in?

Looking for training partner(s) in the wichita area if anyone is interested. I think Lisa C is from Wichita and I think she is doing the 70.3. This will be my first HIM and I am stoked.

Yup yup! I'm in!
Here is the race link to the BTers who are currently signed up to race: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/directory/link-detail.asp?linkid=17315

If you add it to your calendar you're name will be on the list as well

Usually someone starts a "race talk" thread that will appear in the "Iron Distance" forum with the rest... seems no one has started it yet. I might do that soon if no one else does. That way, people not visiting the Kansas forum can participate in one central place.

When is everyone looking to taper?  I'm looking at this coming weekend or the weekend after as the high volume point and then tapering after that.  I'm afraid this weekend will be too soon to start tapering after, however, schedule conflicts make it the easiest weekend to start.

I will be riding the bike course this Wednesday, 5/19/10, if anyone in the area is off and wants to join me. I am then heading down to Branson to ride the course there on Thursday.

Trying to get some good training rides in on the actual courses since I'm doing both of these races as my two HIMs this year.

Did I read the race info right that the bike drop off is from 10am to 6pm?  Last year I think they didn't start until 11am.

What time is everyone else going?  I need to make sure I don't get there too late and have to wait for 2 hours to check my bike in and get my packet...  =)

I'm not rolling into town till closer to 11 or noon. Going to set up my tent, swim and bike before getting in the packet pickup and bike check-in line. I had to wait in a long line last year, but what else am I gonna do?

Lisa,  check my post on the official Kansas 70.3 thread about swim ideas.  Let me know what you think about times and logistics.

Any folks that haven't looked at the thread check it too.  We are planning a group swim on Saturday in case yall are interested.
