Finally,

That azure temptress has been tamed! I swam 800 m in 16 min and 16 sec! That's two minutes faster than I've swam recently and a new PB. I don't want to brag but you guys have patiently listened to me gripe about my struggle with the swim on speed for some time and I thought you'd like my progress. Thanks for all your encouragement and thanks to the guy who answered Tom's post on swimming tips. That whole arm between the neck and waist thing really WORKED! My arms were spinning like a windmill. And I was reallly reaching. It's like all my techniques came together at once. It was great I felt like a fish! Whew! Woo Hoo!

Now all I have to do is repeat it. But we all know that once you do it once you can definitely do it again. Now 16 min is the new standard. Whew! I'll be down to my goal of 15 min. in no time!

Wow! Very cool. I'll have to check out your logs, since swimming is my biggest struggle. If you have any tips that you have found, feel free to share!

Congrats! Great time! Are you working up to that total distance, or is your distance goal farther, but you are timing a portion of it?

I'm doing a sprint tri so my distance is 750 m. But I've been swimming 800 m a day for the last six months or so. Steadily my time has gone down from 30, to 20, to 18 and now to 16. My goal is to have the 800 m in 15 and 1600 in 30.
