Just learned that Paceline Bicycles in Winston Salem, NC is going out of business and selling everything at discount.

Might be a good opportunity to get a new bike or some accessories.

From an email they sent me:

What is their stock like, and tri stuff?

What brands do they carry?

How extensive is their inventory?

I could use a tri backpack, some swimming booties, some carbon bottle cages, tubes and tires.

Last time I was there they had a good assortment of accessories.

They carry Cannondale for sure and I think some Giant, both road and Tri bikes.  They used to partner with the local Tri club in W-S so they have knowledgable staff there on setting you up with a tri-specific bike.

they probably have other brands as well, but when I went I was looking specifically for Felt and they don't carry that, not sure about Cervelo.

No mention of them going out of business on their website.  They have two stores.  One in Winston and one in Greensboro.

Maybe Paceline as a company is not going out of business, but the store in Winston Salem is.  I thought I had specified which store it was.  I think there is an address and a phone number in the OP if anyone wants to give them a call to make sure or find out what line of bikes they carry.

I'm planning to go by on my way back from the NC mountains on Sunday, 11/29.  Hopefully they'll have a few goodies left...

The Paceline store in Greensboro is closed as well. The same people owned both stores. At first they said that everything was going to operate out of the Greensboro store then a day or so later it closed up shop. I haven't heard anything about the inventory in the Greensboro store so maybe they combined it and are going to try and get rid of it all out of the Winston store. The Greensboro store had some good quality gear but not a lot of tri specific stuff.

I'm going to stop by there either today or tomorrow and take a quick inventory, looking for a Trainer cheap.

I'll post what I see, what brands/models of bikes they have and whether they have much tri-specific stuff there.

It starts end of next week and thru the weekend, I guess to concide with Black Friday, so maybe there will be some really good deals.

If you do get a trainer, get some Spinervals too if they have those. Awesome workouts!

Yes Ma'am, Iron-Woman!!

Or maybe I'll just film you and try to keep up with that ... maybe in 3-4 years I'll be able to keep pace with you.  Smile

I made it by there at 10AM on Friday.  It was in true Black Friday spirit.  They were lined around the building to get in.  I was able to grab some pedals, shoes, pump, and some small stuff.  Total, I saved almost 60% off retail.  It took me 2 1/2 hrs to check out though.  Only one register open and something was wrong with AMEX accepting charges.

Sad to see them go.
