Have any of you used Endurolytes during an ironman? They have worked for me in training but I have only taken them for a max of 6 hrs or so. I plan on being on the course in AZ for 15 hrs. I was taking 4 an hour on my long bike rides. Should I continue to take that many during the run as well? Please help. Leaving for AZ in the am.

I hope you do well ! Why not carry them, they dont take up much space, lightweight and can help you or the  person next to you at mile 100, maybe even bring some glucose tablets & tums also to carry in a small ziplock or mini M&M tube or special needs. I have not done an IM but I look at it as the distance you want to be most prepared for, all the more reason for special needs bags, use them to your advantage.

You only need them if you are drinking only water and nothing else.  Otherwise they are a waste.

I took 3 or 4 per hour. Can't remember though. First time ever in a long distance race (HIM, marathon, and IM) that I did not have a single cramp. Could have been nutrition was on or that I was pacing correctly but something worked and I am not going to change it next time.

I can add that since I had GI issues and didn't push it enough was another reason, too.

But, I'll agree with moabrunner - they seemed to help me out.
