I've got a few of the distances covered:

70.3: Providence, Rhode Island (my first HIM, hopefully I'll survive this one)
Olympic: NYC Triathlon
Sprint: Central Park Triathlon

Now if only I was sensible and wasn't doing them in order of decreasing distance...

Im scheduled to do:

Musselman SprintĀ TriĀ in July
North East Olympic Tri in August

Anyone done the Black Bear Tri in PA? It looks interesting.

Black Bear is great. I'll miss the half but won't miss having to do a second loop on the bike. It's a tough bike course, nice scenery, but tough! Swim is nice, the water is clean and clear. Run is also nice, goes over the dam and is fairly flat.

It's a fairly large race. They said they closed out at about 1,200 last year but with the sprint and Oly on separate days this year it shouldn't feel crowded.

Montauk (HIM) /Hamptons (Oly) are good races.  Event Power LI does a good job.

This may be a hike for you, but there's also the Steamtown Marathon in Scranton, PA in mid-October.

PinkPrincess - 2009-12-23 7:47 PM I'm doing the Tinman and actually need your guy's help.  Any marathons in upstate NY/VT in late October timeframe?  I want to do a marathon but want enough time to recover from Tinman and then train for the marathon.

You might want to check out the Wineglass marathon in Corning, NY.  http://www.wineglassmarathon.com/site4.aspx
I've never done it, but hear it's a great race.

Thanks Kelly!  Unfortunately Corning is six hours away from me.  I'm in Lake Placid.   Keep the ideas coming though, guys!  At the very least, this will be helpful for other New Yorkers.

My plan for 2010 is:

Rev3 Half
Pat Griskus Olympic - a really fun and challenging race by the way.
Louisville IM
Westchester Olympic

I also hope to do the Swim across the Hudson in mid September.

I'm totally new to triathlon! I just registered for the NJ state tri. I wanted to do the one in the Gunks, but I definitely need more training first. My fiance is doing the NJ state tri and the Mighty Montauk, but probably can't squeeze in more than that, since he's in the midst of rotations.

I just registered for the NJ State Triathlon. It's more forgiving (and MUCH cheaper) than the NYC triathlon, which I really want to do in 2011. If you're looking for Olympic distance races, the Mighty Montauk seems to be well-organized and fun!

I got shut out of NYC so I am volunteering.
