Yup one is a community fund but also some advice if you want to get in the race in 2011. You need to volunteer to work at the 2010 race as they have first shot at sign ups the next morning after the race. The 2010 athletes can sign up for 2011 on Sat. morning before the race and then on Monday morning volunteers and then on-sight folks after that if there are any slots left. There are typically well over 2000 volunteers for the race so if even half have an interest in the next years race and then half from the present years race sign up again, well there aren't many left. It sounds like it lasted 25 minutes this year. If you don't mind spending the extra money then the community fund slots typically stay open much longer, and if you have to travel to Arizona to volunteer and sign up it may just cost less to do the community fund slot. Thanx, that is great info! I live about 40 minutes from the race site, so volunteering will definately be what im gonna do! I was discouraged about the 25 minute thing when I heard about it earlier! Thanx again, Todd

Glad I saw this, I'll be there for '10.  I don't "speed" (excessively) but my normal 5mph over will be sure to come down to the limit or just below just in case though when I'm there.

In deed, volunteer or race a community slot this year. I had to register for a community slot since all the general ones solf out in 25 minutes. Will make sure to register for 2011 early.
