Swim
Comments: The swim went really good. I started out and found my grove and pace pretty quickly. Twice I got off course a little which slowed me down but for the most part I had great navigation. I'm not a very fast swimmer but that doesn't matter. What would you do differently?: Swim faster! Transition 1
Comments: This transition took longer as I was a little disoriented from such a long swim. I was a bit tired too. What would you do differently?: Layout of my transition area was shoved under my bike making it very hard to get at my stuff. Bike
Comments: The hills of Clermont really took their toll on me however, I knew that I wasn't going to go very fast up them. The course wasn't marked very well around mile 45 and I made a wrong turn that cost me about a 1/2 mile. The rain came down very hard too. I slowed to ensure that I didn't crash on the wet roads. I was soaked to the bone, everything, shoes, jersey, shorts, helmet, EVERYTHING. The lightning that struck was a bit scary too because I didn't want them to make me stop. My new seat worked out pretty good despite my stiff back, which was due to a lack of long distance riding/training. What would you do differently?: Training in Clermont is necessary. A LOT more bike riding. Transition 2
Comments: To make it to T2 was amazing. I was so tired and all I wanted to do is get out on the run course so I could finish! The brief rain soaked everything so my extra socks were wet. I changed to them anyway but in hind-sight, I should have gone without socks. What would you do differently?: Pack my extra socks in plastic in case of rain. Run
