jborneman3 - 2009-12-14 4:44 PM Eagleman sells out pretty quick, so if anyone wants to get in, they must sign up as soon as it opens. I have done Eagleman, great race, but its pretty warm (or shall I say hot!!!). We have some good rides that can get everynone ready for race season, Tim, I am thinking about doing the diabolical double up at Deep Creek in the spring. I have IMLP in my sites for 2011.

Hey, are you kidding me? Did you read the web blog below? 16,000 feet of climbing? Take Josh with you. I'll bring the V-Max and a videographer on the back to record the ride.

I'm always up for a challenge, but to read of elite level cyclists bailing half way through this ride I'm pretty sure the diabolical double is not in my 2010 plans.

If they offer an early registration discount, I will likely be signing up right away.

Out of curiosity, where did you get this from? That is for '09 registration.  This info is not still on the website anywhere, is it?

For 2010, we have eliminated the really early-bird special (through 3/1) and rates through 6/1/10 are consistent with the rates through 7/1/10 of last year.  Also, Active.com has been eliminated and gone with it are it's ridiculous 6% fees.

Even at $160, this is a good deal for a half iron event. I'm in next payday, hoping to get my brick!

Hi Kyle,

Thanks for the clarification. Glad Active isn't skimming this one. I got the numbers Goggling Savageman Tri...I don't think the registration updated till 01-01-10 at 10A.

Reading all the past reports and I don't think I'm worried about the wall due to the incline (it's crazy but with proper training it's doable) but if someone in front of me goes down and then I follow because it's to difficult to adjust at that point.

that was my experience.  Did it half a dozen times in training.  Fellow racer crashed in front of me and I didn't make it up.  What my race report doesn't say was that the woman who crashed in front of me was the same woman who came upon me during a training ride after I had crashed.  Gotta check out the savageman forum archives for that one.  Anyway, I've told her I don't want anything to do with her since bike crashes seem to be associated with her.

If something like that happened to me again, I would definitely ride around the block back down the wall and try again.  In the grand scheme of things, what difference does an extra 20 seconds of horrible climbing cost me????

SavageMan is no doubt a very challenging race with very steep grades.  Savage Mountain is 7 miles long with several steep accents including the “Wall”.  I may return in 2010 that will depend on how well my race year goes.

My RR reflects some of my thoughts overall of the Savageman.
