Any suggestions?

I also wanted a stationary bike and bought a good Elite trainer (chrono wireless) and the cheapest new racebike I could find. It was some no name race bike with cheap components which cost $350 and weighs about 25 lbs. Took the unnecessary components off (brakes), and now I've been using this same bike for about 4-5 years as my stationary trainer. Because I'm only using it as my stationary bike there is minimal wear on the components. Only thing is to get the right size, and that's it. My bike has Shimano Sora components, they are the low end of Shimano products, but they do just fine.

why not just get a trainer for your regular bike? A lot cheaper...
