I've got this race on the schedule but haven't started thinking about it yet.  Running the Cowtown Half first.

Yup! I'm coming to Keller just for St. Paddy's day Tri! haha no, I'm from Keller, I just go to school at Annapolis. I'll be home for spring break, so I figured why not join up. I actually live less than a mile from bear creek!

Btw, St. Paddy's is going to be my first Tri ever!

I can't wait for it!

Ah, so you go to the Academy!  We are relocated here from Columbia!  Love Annapolis!  Buddy's ribs are awesome and Chick N Ruth's has the best breakfasts!

St. Paddy's is a good race, but be prepared for cold temps.

But you blocked out the bike and run because your limbs were frozen

I'm very excited!!  This will be my first of many triathlons.  I'm enjoying the training.  I'm prepared for the cold weather.  A friend of mine did it last year and said she was miserable.  I thought I'd give it a shot!!

 that is so cool

the weather was just bad,, low temps misting rain, plus it had been raining in the days leading up to the race I believe since the roads had huge puddles all over...   I remember that I couldnt' feel my feet at the start of the run.. but other than that it's a great time..

the weather can't really be worse this year, and you can't control that anyway

Great!  I improved on my averages from last season and felt a whole lot better afterwards!  Still some definite room for improvement, but satisfied for today.  : )

I'm getting ready for the Lonestar, so this was a nice race to get my feet wet this season.  Won't race again until Lonestar.  I could see myself doing this race again.  Need some OWS time though.

Awesome race for me.  Set a new 5K PR and came in 14th overall, though it was only good enough for 4th in my AG.  (How crazy is that?)

Still had numb feet coming off the bike, but sounds as though it was nothing like last year.  Sorry I didn't meet up with more BTers out there.

It was a fun race and I think it was well run with one exception.

I was lucky enough to get third in my AG and waited for the awards ceremony. The 3rd place award, was, drumroll please....an exact replica of the finishers medal I just received for finishing the race! It didn't say 3rd place or anything on it I guess their thought process was, we have all of these leftover medals... How can we get rid of them? I don't do this sport to try to get awards, but it sure isn't an incentive to stay for the awards ceremony.

I'm not sure why race directors in Texas don't give away gifts from the race sponsors as prizes. They do in other states and it makes alot of sense.

On the positve side it was SO FUN to be racing after a cold winter. I'm looking forward to spring!

They did the same thing with the Monster Tri medals last year.  Agreed that it was somewhat disappointing.  The other thing the need to get dinged for is that racers were being allowed to dive in the race start.  The official should have stopped that immediately, both for the insurance reasons and because it is an unfair advantage to those who break the rule and dive in.

Anybody else measure the run course as very slightly short?  I came out with only 3.04 miles on my Garmin.

(I've already confirmed with many that the bike was slightly long -- 12.6 miles.)

My Garmin was 3.07 for the run and 12.69 for the bike.
