Really slacked in November. I'm doing an indoor tri on 1/9/10 so that's helping to get me motivated.  Merry Christmas, David!

It's actually the Highland County YMCA one. It's their first year, so hopefully things will go smoothly.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I'm doin well - I've seen your dad at Worthington a couple of times while my kids are in lessons.

staying in columbus for christmas

My running mileage has been low.  I have been trying to let an ankle injury heal and just take some general running rest.

I have been pulling my kids more miles on the bike. I also dd a cyclocross race.

I am going to do a couple months of master's swimming.

christmas shopping is going to go to the wire

winter races:
OSU indoor tri the 31st
lifetime indoor tri - not sure when it is.
maybe a half marathon in feb
arnold 5k early march

Brue - where are you Master's swimming?
I joined the Sharks for the winter quarter. It's fun! I'm definitely improving.

I'm doing the Westerville New Year's Day race. Anyone else?

I just had my first training day back after taking most of Nov and Dec off.  I was amazed at how well I did!  No walking in my run set- yay!  I'm a bit fluffy from my time off but I don't think I've slid too far back...so I say now.  I'm sure when my rear first encounters my bike saddle I'll be singing a different tune.

I'm planning on the Columbus 1/2 merry and the Grady Indoor Tri in March- that is if my masters haven't summoned me to the Hell Portal, er, Home Office that week.

Thanks for asking newbz!

I'm currently trying to talk myself into taking the plunge and signing up for the Cedar Point IM. In the meantime I'm trying to fill the rest of my schedule with weird/fun/odd races so I don't get as burned out as I did last year during my HIM training.

So far I'm signed up for a 2 mile Valentine's Day Couples race with my wife http://www.active.com/running/highland-heights-ky/30th-annual-valen... , the Warrior Dash http://www.warriordash.com/register2010_midwest.php, and I'm trying to convince a buddy into doing the Loveland Amazing Race http://www.historicloveland.com/lovelandsamazingrace.htmlwith me.

Oh and I got a bike trainer for Christmas, which is awesome, but I have no idea how to work the damn thing.

I am with DT on this one. I took October off post HIM. I am back up to 4-7 hours a week of exercise - no particular focus just doing whatever the schedule allows. I did a few running races in oct and nov. I feel like I am pretty rested and I have maintained ( or even improved with respect to running) my level of fitness from last year. I know from recent rides on my trainer I am pushing a gear that is higher at the same cadence with the same level of effort as early last year.

I am considering that warriordash(thanks dt for posting that), another crack at the Krispy Kreme Challenge, the Bourbon run and then my assorted collection of 10k, splash and dash, sprint and Oly triathlons. I am going to try the Rev3 - probably the HIM distance. If I do the Rev3 HIM instead of the Toyota HIM I might do the Columbus marathon.

I've slacked quite a bit over the holidays. I have been working out (running and swimming) about 1 to 2 days a week. I have only been on the trainer once. I did decide on a spring marathon to kick my rear-end into gear. I signed up for the Pittsburgh marathon today. Let the training begin..........

I had a good September-November and took off 20 days in December.  Time to get back at it now.

Lora, what is the format of the YMCA indoor on 1/9?  Or better stated, is there a link for information?

Thanks

Lora, I just followed your YMCA link on the race listing.  Thanks.

Actually, I tried to follow it but is seems to be broke at least at the current moment.
