I posted this question in another Muncie thread, I Googled up places to replace carbs and celebrate what I am hoping will be my 1st of many HIMs.  Scotty's is about 3 miles from the hotel and among other things has micro-brews, deep fried pickles, make your own burgers and outdoor dining (sounds almost too good to be true).  So, how woud this place be for dinner & beers Saturday night (assuming I am able to stand) and, is there some place better we should be looking at?

THANKS!

Grazer - 2010-07-08 9:01 AM Saturday's weather report is calling for a high of 82 and partly cloudy in Muncie. Sounds like pretty good racing weather for July!
Somethings wrong...no scorching heat or torrential rains!!! Rain is moving in this afternoon and tonight with 40% chance tomorrow with a high of 79...that water temp could drop enough! But you can't beat mid 80s and sun with little wind forcast for Saturday!!! I'm almost...note almost sorry I'm doing the LC Duathlon and not swimming!!! I just rode out to the reservoir and everything is shaping up...out there!

+1.  Could not ask for better July forecast!!

Just did a "mini-tri" (450/7/1.2) warm-up this AM, inc local lake wetsuit swim.  Actually my sleeveless wasn't too bad in 83F (my measurement) water. Since I'm not near AG competitive, I may just use the suit (Xterra sleeveless) even if water temp doesn't make it down to 77.

I'll be riding my red Specialized Tarmac w/PD aerobars, in case any fellow BTer's might recognize me & say hello.

Good luck to all!

Never been to Scotty's in Muncie, but +3 from me if it's like the one on Indy's Northside.
Those fried pickles are supposed to be good for cramps

We are going to get mixed up!  My set-up is the same!  I have the Jammers though, maybe you have different aerobars?

I'm also wearing blue tri-top this event, but no way to get us mixed up.  I'll be the SLOW one
BTW- My aerobars are PD Airstryke- not the best for tri or TT but I like the flip-up arm rests for climbs on long, hilly bike events.

My 1st HIM & I'm a little concerned after check-in & orientation.  Water temp 82 (went UP after those t-storms & cooler temps past 24hrs?), and I'm in 2nd wave (@ 2:15/100M?).  I'm gonna get swum over BIG time

My ankle is still not happy, so I switched to the aquabike. Should be interesting, as I can now hammer the bike and not worry about trashing my legs...

You and I will be side by side! 2:10 swim, 15mph bike, 10 min mile, hopefully. Bib 375.
