Expert  721   Chandler, AZ |  Subject: Underwater videoHey guys, Anyone want to meet at LA Fitness or one of the public pools (El Dorado) to capture some underwater swimming video before the end of the year? I have the camera needed. Video captured this way is usually quite adequate to do some informal stroke analysis. rb. |

Expert 721 Chandler, AZ | Subject: RE: Underwater video Looks like with vacation schedule El Dorado pool hours, the only time available in next 2 weeks is Mon 28th, around 6pm-ish. Otherwise, i don't mind meeting folks any other time at El D. to video. Does that work? I can call El D. too to make sure they don't mind, but i think i've video'ed there before no problem. The video angles can be not quite as good as you'd get professionally, just due to trying to shoot within a single lane or 2. But i usually find a series of over and under-water shots from side, front and back is quite sufficient to make a good analysis. Could perhaps make use of the diving well too. If anyone has an indoor pool suggestion that we can all get into, I'm fine with wherever, as long as the water clarity is good, and there's room in the pool for us to get a side shot. 7:45am at El D. on 28th could work too, but that's running up against work. Elite 2645 Phoenix, AZ | Subject: RE: Underwater video If all of this fails there is a LA Fitness on Northern and the I-17 that has an outdoor pool. No one watches the gate, so anyone can just walk in. It's a HUGE pool that is almost always empty. |

I can make either time. FYI - They have whale arobics on Monday's at 9am and Tuesday's at 6pm. Class is one hour so we'll want to avoid the pool at these times and be done well before class starts. Also, my experience is that the pool is pretty crowded from 7-8ish in the pm. I've swam at that time and it's usually 2 people per lane so it might be better if we go after 8:30pm to avoid having to deal with a lot of people in the pool. I'm up for whatever the majority decides. |

Best angles to get are a couple vids of a person swimming towards the camera (head on), swimming directly away from the camera and side angle as close to the surface as you can get without the lane line interfering.
