Aftter weeks of sluggishness it's time to get rolling and get on track - Jan. 1 will begin my 20 week training plan for Triple T.  Who else is racing this year?

I was thinking about the Triple T NC ( My dad lives near Raleigh) but doesnt look like the timing will work. I applaud you if you are going after the Triple T in Portsmouth, OH. I used to work down in that area and spent a week at the Shawnee lodge for vacation. That terrain is terrifying - lots of quad pain in your future.

David: on the swim I know what you mean. I love to swim but I have to be seriously careful with the shoulder. Alsoit is one of the few workouts that I have to do on the gyms' schedule. I started running yesterday again. I addition to the stuff I do with Gunner. It was not pretty and man, I'm slow. But I have to drop some weight so that is to be expected.

Don't be scared. But we do have hills over here. Both on the run and the bike. Even Shannon couldn't figure out how to get hills in the swim. LOL

I hope everyone had a great Christmas/Holiday. Much luck with the training.

Yep, I think for the first time in years I am going to intentionally try to drop a few lbs. to be ready for those hills.  I usually just tone up and let the training take care of my body weight, but I would like to be about 10 lbs. lighter for this race.

Don't be swim haters - it's the only part of the darn race I can do fast!!   Having said that I have started to change over from all freestyle workouts to a mixed stroke workout to care for my aging shoulders!  40 is approaching fast!

i actually do like swimming once i get back into it, but i dislocated a shoulder playing hockey in high school plus 7 years of junior and U23 rowing wrecked them a bit more, then got hit by a car and dislocated the other this summer. makes swimming fun

but as of this week its slowly getting better. ave almost 1k per day

big hit from the 3-5k a day last winter though.

chris, dont know about that, i am pretty sure i felt some hills on the swim last time around.

My husband just signed up, and he is excited... He's currently building a really evil training plan that includes every hill in Knox County he can find for cycling and running.

I'm not signing up, although it does sound like a blast.

I'm all in for Triple T!  i attempted it in 2008, but health issue forced a DNF.  I got the campsite reserved, got a training plan and coach.  it should be fun this year.
