Congrats on the bike! Post pictures when you get it.

Scott, congrats on your race. You are still looking at sub 13 hour IM finish. How was your nutrition? Even though you are not in too much pain, take it easy the next few days. There usually comes a crash, and it's not always the day after.

Have a great week guys. My back has been a little screwed up, but I think I am going running sometime either today or tomorrow. Wish me luck. I have 2 weeks until my marathon

Thanks - i am pretty sure I had my nutrition dialed in - felt great - and I dont think I left anything in the gas tank. Would have like to do a better half marathon but I was enjoying it so much I chatted with volunteers and other racers. I took 42 minutes off my last half ironman in 1999. And this was my first triathlon since 2004. So I am very very pleased. Learned so much, but really have doubts about double the distances.

Great race report. Very detailed. You took in 1700 calories on the bike? How did you feel? Get used to the rain, Lake Placid rains almost very year, I think. This was good practice for that.

Don't worry about doubling your distance. Everybody is concerned about that. Think of it this way. You won't feel much worse at mile 139.6 as you did at 70.3 and at 139.6 you'll only have one mile to go, so that is the easiest mile you will do.

I felt great - why do you think it was too much in terms of calories?

Congrats on a great half, I have been feeling the effects of training, ie tired legs and some sort of terrible pain in my lower left leg after I run??  I am going to scale back this week and do a recovery week and lay off the running for a few days and see if my leg will quit hurting. no pain biking or swimming so concentrate on those for a few days, to bad my run was actually coming around some

1700 seems like a lot of calories for that long of a ride. That would translate into 3400 cals for your IM bike. Most people would be in the 1800-2400 range. If you can handle that, then even better for you and the run.

31 mile ride on the new bike this weekend felt great, couple little tweaks to the gears and it will be perfect. Took it easy last week will ride today and probably give the leg a try tomorrow on a run.

My groin has been bugging me. I finally got out and ran on it a little this weekend. It feels fine. I will give it go for the marathon this weekend. She be fun. I am running with a coworker who is not in the greatest of shape, so we will slog it out and have a good time in the process, I think. Some of our other coworkers will be out there supporting us, so we are going to make a fun day of it.
