Subject: Tire/Wheel size question
Hi everyone, not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but maybe some bike gear heads can answer this for me;

I plan on doing my first tri this summer, and my current bike is 2003 Rocky Mountain Metro hybrid.  The wheels that came with the bike are Alex Rims DH19 (specs here).  I currently have Michelin Transworld City 700x32 tires that I want to change as those aren't that fast, plus the sidewalls are showing signs of wear.

Would I be able to go as low as a 700x25 or even 23 on those rims?  If so, would they be more prone to flats because the rim is somewhat wide for those size tires?  I was thinking of getting the Conti Ultra GatorSkins.

Yes, I found that site after I had posted my question.  It says I shouldn't go lower than a 28c tire with my 18mm rim, but I talked to my LBS this morning and he said I could easily run a 25c on the rim.

I'll probably still just run the 28c to be safe though.  Also, after a bit more reading, I think I'll go with the Specialized All Condition Elite tire instead of the Conti Ultra Gatoskin.  It seems to be lighter and just as durable, and probably cheaper.
