Regular 316 | Subject: RE: Anybody wearing Vibrams Got the Classics and the KSO's for Christmas. Been running in the Classics and am a convert!! Probably will not buy another pair of conventional running shoes. Calves will definitely feel it the first few times, but haven't felt an ache/twinge/pain in legs or feet. Am up to 4 miles and have to make myself stop from going farther. |

Extreme Veteran 626 Wahiawa, Hawaii.... but now in Florence, KY.. | Subject: RE: Anybody wearing Vibrams had the KSO's for maybe 5 months now... up to 7.5 miles.... i'm was a clyde and am now a light weight clyde.... 185lbs... i do 1 or 2 runs in them a week. once i build up to longer miles, i may not ever buy another running shoe ever again. Until then, i will continue to run my long runs in my zoots. Calves were tight at first and the outside of my feet were sore too... but after 2 weeks, everything was good. |

Master 1790 Tyler, TX | Subject: RE: Anybody wearing Vibrams I've had my KSOs for some 6 or 7 weeks now. I run in them to start some of my regular runs, then change shoes and finish with regular running shoes. I do that from two to four times a week, depending on how my calves are feeling. I'm up to 3 miles now on the KSOs. Unless you're already a forefoot runner, you really need to build into these things slowly. I don't think I'll try 4 miles for a week or two more... |

Master 1324 Rochester, NY | Subject: RE: Anybody wearing Vibrams Been wearing them exclusively for running since August. The two limiters are the calves/achilles and blistering. I'm now up to 40 minutes and feel ready for longer. But its been slow to build this far. I'm probably slower to adapt than most. As for callouses, yes, you will get them. Wearing the socks does help this some. But I've blistered/calloused repeatedly since running in them. Definitely not for foot models. Outside of these issues, I've been much healthier otherwise. My feet, which bothered me for years in regular running shoes, feel great. I'm also MUCH faster in Vibrams. First race with them was about 40 seconds per mile faster than previous PR. On only about 8 miles per week total training. I have no plans to ever run in regular running shoes again. I'm that much of a Vibram convert. |

Regular 86 Chicagoland | Subject: RE: Anybody wearing Vibrams Lots of people report improved running times... Is that because they switched to a forefoot or midfoot strike? Is it because they became more efficient?I'm dying to know cuz I wouldn't mind a faster run time myself! :-)note: I am already a forefoot striker |

Here's a girly question for you - do they cause callluses? I'm no foot model but I don't want caveman feet either. No calluses for me so far. The "pads" of my feet get a lot harder when I walk around barefoot during the summer than they are now. Brian |

I'll let you know if I ever get faster with the VFFs! Brian |

I can feel my achilles working like springs with the Vibrams. So much more energy return in the run motion. None of that was present with the regular running shoes. I can also feel my glutes engage much more with the Vibrams. My run motion is getting much closer to the Pose, Chi, Evolution styles. Never anything close before. |

Veteran 288 | Subject: RE: Anybody wearing Vibrams I run in the Kso's sometimes for trail running, they are fun when its wet out. I already run barefoot mostly when its warm so I bought these for when its cold but they still don't keep my feet warm below freezing. I use these for new trails I've never ran before to scout out what they are like. I ran a few 6 - 10 milers and did get some blisters on the toes and at the seam in the upper arch area...would recommend body glide on your feet for the first few runs. I don't care for these for pavement running they are overkill for me but for a runner coming from trainer type shoes these will be a big difference and will take some time to adapt...a slow very gradual process would be best. |

For me anyways, the increase happened too fast to be anything else. |

Expert 906 Brookings South Dakota | Subject: RE: Anybody wearing Vibrams I am at over 800 miles in my KSOs including multiple runs of at least 26.2 miles and cannot be happier. I have a history of PF and ITBS and have had great success in these. I am running much farther and faster in these then I ever was in regular shoes. kvn371 - 2010-01-12 6:26 PM Lots of people report improved running times... Is it because they became more efficient?I'm dying to know cuz I wouldn't mind a faster run time myself! :-)note: I am already a forefoot striker It's not strictly because of the midfoot landing. I was midfoot landing in regular shoes and still got injured. Now I'm in the VFF and hoping to Boston Qualify this May and just broke my 5k PR in training a few weeks ago. Also the improved running times come from not being injured as often, as in my case. I ran for less then two years and took 4 months off in that time because of injury. Feel free to check out my blog and a few of the links I have posted to the right side. |

Master 1790 Tyler, TX | Subject: RE: Anybody wearing Vibrams 3fun - 2010-01-14 9:40 AM Is everyone wearing the Vibrams with socks? the seams on the inside seem fairly "rough" I only run sockless and it's not a issue for me. I ran once in the low 30s and my feet weren't particularly cold. Doesn't get much colder around here.... If I were to run with socks I'd need to go up a size since my vibrams fit pretty snug on me. Extreme Veteran 430 Madison, WI | Subject: RE: Anybody wearing Vibrams When I was buying a new pair of sneakers the other day, I tried the VFF's on the treadmill at the store and holy cow was that different. Your heel just doesn't land. I am one of those strange midfoot strikers and I tried my damndest to get my heel to hit and the only way that it worked out was if I threw my center of gravity so far back that it looked like someone was pulling me from behind. My thoughts: 1) Awesomesauce. 2) This would be very difficult to run at my current mileage. 3) Fun! 4) After .1 miles...a little ow in the old arch. I'm likely going to purchase a pair once spring rolls around. I tried them without socks and I don't particularly see the point of socks with them. |

New user 15 | Subject: RE: Anybody wearing Vibrams I go both ways with the socks. Usually if it's cold I'll slip on a pair, otherwise I go without. I did have to back off from the vibrams for two weeks, I stumbled and got most of a toe nail ripped off. Now that I'm running in them again I'm totally cognizant of picking up my feet :-p. Other than that I love them. Definitely converts you to mid/front foot strike without having to think about it, and I'm definitely faster cause it's second nature with them to toe off. |
