Pre-race routine:

Wake up at 3:15, eat oatmeal and peanut butter bagels. Banana I think.
Event warmup:

Sit in car until first wave start. Run across course and parking lot. Get barricaded OUT of the race. Have to cross through a path in the woods, over a log and then cut across the earlier waves who are at mile 4 to get back up to start. I think we were the LAST people to start. It was crazy.
Run
  • 5h 31m 41s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 12m 40s  min/mile
Comments:

This was an OK day for me. We went slow after the first few since my running partner was feeling under the weather. I felt strong, and wish I could figure out what I did with my stride, as I never felt too sore. Of course, that may have been the advil I has been taking since the day before.
What would you do differently?:

Run faster.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk though finishers area and pick up medal, some snack and daughter. Get on bus and grab a mocha from starbucks.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weather and training.

Event comments:

I keep coming back, and am signed up again, so it must not suck too bad. Since it is a drivable race for me, it is fun. Not sure how many more Goofy's I want to do though. Too much waking up early.

way to go.  Thanks again for the offer to bring stuff for me!

I had a great time... I wasn't hurrying either... haven't written up my race report, but I will soon.

and I agree about post race food... it was easily the worst post-race food in any race I have ever done... fruit and nasty bagels.  dagnabbit.

congrats!
