I'll be traveling from MN to run this, I am really excited.  Thought about it for years and put my name in the hat this time.  Score!   I'll be checking back here for any hints/recommendations...

Only 2 1/2 weeks away. I'm hoping to go under 1:30 for the first time there.

Steve - I think you've got 90 mins in the bag.

The weather looks GREAT.

Is the course as flat as it looks on the map?  I figure that the only inclines are going over the bridge, right?

Its pretty flat and its going to be a pretty fast course too.  Weather should work out perfectly.

Are the crowds thick at the beginning?  Or do they sort out folks fairly well?  I've done small, disorganized races where I have to weave a lot.  I've done huge, fancy races where I have free space in a minute.  How does this one tend to go?

They try to divide up the crowds pretty well.  Based on your number is the assigned wave you will go off in.  They usually give about 5-10 minutes between waves.

I lucked out last year and started abotu 3-4 waves behind the one I was supposed to (bathroom issues) and ended up having to dodge and weeve through groups to finally get in my paced group.

The organization is great with the wave starts, but it still tends to be really crowded throughout the whole race. I remember being really frustrated at the water stops last year because it was so congested.

I'm hoping for a PR (under 1:32) and secretly hoping to go under 1:30.

Good to know about the water stops, I might bring a throwaway bottle and take care of myself.

Sounds like a few of us will be in the same range.  My 10-mile PR is 1:35, but that was a hillier course.   Hoping for 1:33-5.    I wish I could say 1:30, but that would be a miracle I think.  Or would it...

I wouldn't sweat the water stops too much. I always stay in the middle and head for the very last table of the stop. That way you pass everyone who stops at the beginning of the stop. Works every time. It also gives the volunteers down there some action.
I have found that the first mile or so is pretty congested but it hasn't really affected my times too much.

I too have mised my wave start due to bathroom issues. That's why you've gotta love chip timing.

I'm coming all the way from Tucson for this. Looking forward to it! I just happened to be in the area for work the following week, so I went online and was able to get a transfer bib for the race. No goal time, just want to enjoy the scenery and the run. I may even bring a small camera with me.
