I would like to hike the course of the Red Top Rumble the day after the race. Does anyone know if I can figure out the course or how to get a map.?I looked at the map from mapmyrun.com and it is not really good since the course is off road.

Thanks for your help and good luck on the real race day.

I was running on Red Top Mountain yesterday. I'm not sure, but they may be combining the Homestead Trail (5.5 miles) and the Iron Hill Trail (4 miles) with a run on the road in between. These are both great trails for running or hiking.

Here is the link to the Red top mountain trail map. That might help.

http://www.redtopmountainstatepark.org/resources/red-top-mountain-state-park-trail-map.pdf

They also have hard copies of this map at the visitor center where the Homestead Trail starts.

Anybody getting any trail runs in soon to prepare for this beast?  If so, I would like to join, need some serious help with pacing I believe.

I may be up for some the Laurel Ridge trail in cumming this weekend if the legs can start feeling ok by then. I trained there last year and it helped.

For those of you that haven't done red top before, I would suggest adding some hills to your diet right away

I might be able to do 4 loops (10 miles) at the Leita Thompson Park here in Roswell or go somewhere else.

To the OP:  I'm pretty sure it's the two trails listed above, but they don't connect the two by road.  There is a section about half way through where you run through the woods with out a trail for maybe a half mile, and I think this is the connection.  You might try emailing the GUTS (getguts.com).  They are a pretty easy going group, and if you mentioned hiking the route the next day to pick up any scaps of trash that were missed they would probably call you a volunteer and give you a shirt.
