Comments: Hot and Humid (88% humidity) at the start. Police escort from the start to the towns set of traffic lights. With the humidity I quickly realised that a personal best was not on the cards so i settled in to a comfrtable pace that I felt I could keep up for the distance. I was pleasantly surprised when this "comfortable pace" was in the 7 min mile range. What would you do differently?: I don't think I could have done anything differently. Perhaps I could have taken a bottle of liquid with me but they had a water station at about 1 mile. Conditions were worse than I expected but as always hindsight is 20/20. I'm rating this a good race because considering the conditions I'm very happy. Post race
Warm down: Stretching and plenty of water to drink. Snickers bars and Nut goodie bard at the finish line Yum! What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat and Humidity Last updated: 2005-06-01 12:00 AM
