Pre-race routine:

.........return from home after rocking toby to sleep and find my teammates (lisa{lrunfit}, heidi{PMK} and coach nashers{Lunatic} near the donkey corral set up earlier in the morning before the half marathon.......go down and get my bib number from the check in table and find other team member Ben{bscharff}and go back upstairs to relax, just for a bit tho as soon it was time to warm up!!
Event warmup:

4 laps (?)with ben then over to the "pit stop" area to get set....then a mad dash over to the starting line since they were about to start the race without me!!!!

Comments:

again, inside on a 455 meter track. age group rank above is the coed division that we were entered into. plan was for me to do the first 11 laps and then lisa would do 12, then heidi 12, then ben 12, then each of us do another 12.........

gun goes off and i take off.....ouch, sore from the mornings race..after 11 laps pull into the "pit stop" (every team had a designated spot where the exchange had to be made. we decided that the person who was running next would take the chip strap off of the runner who had just finished and quick switch it over to the runner about to start, worked out great!!) everyone finished their first segment pretty strong, tho mine hurt a ton!! second go around for the team found me enjoying my laps and lisa hurting some (she also had done the half in the morning, 2nd overall female!! heidi also did the half as well and won her age group!!) so the plan quickly switched to lisa pulling into the pits after 8 laps, then ben doing a hard 3 laps, then me doing a hard 3 laps, then lisa for 3 then heidi for 8 or so and ben left to clean it all up...........revised plan worked out great and ben brought us home to a 9:30+ second victory over second place!!

my portion of the relay ended up being 25 laps (6.99 miles).........

What would you do differently?:

n...a...d...a......

looking back at the weekend, this is by far one of those highlights i will remember for a long long time!! (not the biggest highlight tho.....that is yet to come.............)
Post race
Warm down:

Event comments:
