Let's say, hypothetically speaking of course, that I have a workout scheduled, but had a rough week, and couldn't resist knocking back a few beers...  Is there a downside to working out drunk?  Besides the whole dehydration thing, and the possibility of falling off the trainer...  This is all hypothetical of course...  ;-)

I set a personal best on the bench press after a few beers...300 lbs.

Drinking and cardio produced the opposite results for me.

Make sure you keep a beer in your water bottle cage in case you feel your buzz wearing off

Okay, I'll be (for the first time) play the side-of-reason card.  Why would you?  I'll go with safety concerns. (I can't believe I actually stated that).

Swam a mile today with a hangover from getting drunk last night!

Hangovercising is not the most fun workout in the world I can tell you that much!

Thought I would be one of those people that barf in the pool that has been discussed recently.

Me and Jose Cuervo are no longer on speaking terms.  lol

"Hey! Watch this!"

"Heck, I can make it!"

"It does't look dangerous"

And now:
"Is there a downside to working out drunk?"

I think either a new youtube video or a darwin award is coming.Smile

I know some doubles volleyball players that drink Miller Lite, all day long, while they're at tournaments!!  Seriously, they start at 9 AM and still manage to win.  I'd fall on my butt if I tried that.

Good luck and make sure you record it.

He should just take an IV after the exercise if drinking, right?

That was funny! (Only if it doesn't take the spot of an athlete that NEEDS it.)

This is not my advice.

You mentioned "Knocking back a few beers", so in my mind that is not drunk, maybe a little buzzed.

I semi-regularly come home form work, pour a pint of IPA draft and spin on my indoor trainer for 30 minutes.  This allows me to maintain some sort of physical fitness while unwinding mentally as well.

For me, it's a "win win"... as they say in the corporate world.

Hey, a guys got to live......right?

Exercising is good for you no matter what.  It's science.  Don't try to F with science.

I recommend rollers.  Yes, rollers.  You should advance the difficulty of each exercise component directly with the number of drinks you've had.

I would also like to see a relationship between guiness and coors light and the effect on exercise.

Oh and please video this.  I will give you a dollar if you do.
