I just saw H. Walker make his debut in MMA on Showtime. He is 47 yrs old and whooped a 26 yr old. Now I understand his opponet was not top notch talent, but I was fairly impressed with Walker.

And you have to admit, this man is quite the athlete. Heisman, almost made the USA Track team, bobsled team member and now MMA fighter! He is still in great shape for 47!

Always a genetic freak. He, was on Jim Rome and he said that he just clocked a sub 4.5 - 40 at 47.

At 1 sit up/second that's almost 3 hours of situps a day...

meh...  He looked decent for an amature fighter.  Not much movement and just used his strength a lot...  He needs a lot of work, but not bad.  He could get in real trouble with an accomplished Jiu Jitsu guy.

Not bad on 9 weeks of of MMA specific training though....I'd like to see him after a full camp. I thought he'd use his Tae know do more....He's a pure athlete no doubt about it.

He says he never lifted, sit-ups and push-ups are his only workout.

I wonder what his motivation is. I have to think it's just a personal challenge because who starts MMA at 47?? Had he started after he retired from the NFL he may have made an impact.

Probably just personal challenge and enjoyment.  I started BJJ about 15 months ago for the same reason.  Don't expect to ever compete at a high level, but it's fun and a good way to stay in shape.

but if your Herschel walker you probably do 10 per second, so that's less than 17 minutes.
