Soy milk is much more processed than cow milk. I would stick with cow milk unless you have a dairy intolerance. If you have a dairy intolerance, then skip the over-processed soy alternatives and drink coconut milk or coconut water (sometimes called coconut juice). High is good fats and delicious.
When in doubt, eat the foods that are closest to their natural state, not the ones that rely on modern technology to become edible. If the package has health claims on it, don't buy it! Buy the real food that isn't processed because it's NATURALLY nutritious!

I wonder if all the energy bars with soy protien isolate etc fall into this catagory.  Id hate to give up my powerbars.. they're so handy.

everyone is dairy intolerant...cows milk is for baby cows, not for human digestion.

because you dont show severe symptoms doesn't mean its not true.  85% of the world is dairy intolerant.

the fact that people drink milk and its good for us is a great marketing, and something you see everyday on tv, hear in radio and are taught growing up, its such huge lie, but then again most people believe everything they learned growing up is true.

So I'm intolerant, but I tolerate it without problems?

I see you went from 100% down to 85% already too.  It's easy to make big generalizations.  It's harder to back them up most of the time.

im not here to argue, i was just stating some facts, i was making a generalization and when asked about it i put 85% cause that is the number most people in the medical field agree on.  we lack the enzymes to break down dairy, cows milk is for cows, its simple...anyways i was just pointing out something that has been said in previous threads.

if i continue my posts will probably be deleted.

Calling them "facts" doesn't make them true.

There are people who produce lactase.  What other enzymes are we lacking?

All I'm asking for is a reference to the medical studies that say 85%, knowing that most statistics are mde up on the spot. I have never looked into it, not currently challenging the 85% number, would just like a point of reference

You also stated that everybody was intolerant of milk.

Humans are omnivores.  We're capable of breaking down and digesting any number of things.

Searching just for the word "intolerant," it says "At least half of the adult humans on this earth are lactose intolerant." Granted, I did not read the entire thing, nor anything referenced therein, so if it says it somewhere else not using the word intolerant, I did not read that.

So, even granting you a reference to a 50% number, the answer is instead "there are none that I know of"

Fair enough

BTW, I've got no dog in this fight. I don't agree with you. I don't disagree with you. I just think when people say that XX% of people are XX, they better have a source for that number

fun trivia for today...remember the milk councils big ad campaign many years ago..."milk it does a body good".  they were sued and were forced to stop doing those ads, because it was considered false advertising.

You're leaving out some relevant facts though.  The false advertising that was being done was claiming that drinking milk wouldn't lead to weight gain.

I got this from the most reliable sorce available...  WikiAnswers:  (so says 86% of all users - I made that up on the spot).  Three possible answers.

"47.3% of statistics are made up on the spot!"

"This is simply not correct. The correct answer is 58.17543% of statistics are made up on the spot!"

"due to the nature of this statistic, the value changes every single time it is calculated. It can vary widely from under 40% to over 90%. At the moment, it is 78.6% "
