Congrats to everyone who raced today!!!

JCC tri results should be posted on http://www.ceptiming.com/  when they're ready.  They usually have the results posted the same day as the race.

Thanks Chad! She does,I was so proud of her today, as much about her placing as the fact that she raced at all, it was AWFUL out there! I totally would have punked out.

I am soooooo glad that I didn't pick this as my first tri. I think it would have given me a bad taste in my mouth about triathlons. Please, please, please be warm and dry on March 14th. I'll never ask for anything else ever! OK...maybe not "never".

Congrats to BTturtle on an awesome first triathlon!! Congratulations Joe - looks like you got first in your age group. I bet it was that huge Starbucks beforehand that did it!

Thanks to each and every one of you who have been helping me out. Couldn't have made it so far...The race was awesome; could not have asked for a better weather while being sick for a week. I did feel my best yesterday though, over the past week. The race results are posted at http://ceptiming.com/2010/misc237/10JCCTri-MaxiAllM.txtItwas awesome to see some of you there, braving out the rain just to see us finish, that meant a lot. Finally I have PR ...lol.. not much, but will do for now.36 5/10 379 SOURIN PAUL 36 11:12 24 48:06 40 35:57 1:35:15

Congrats BTTurtle...you can now say that you are a triathlete. You also have a baseline to go for PR's now. I can't wait til my 1st tri on 3/14.

What was your impression on the tri? Swim, Bike, Run & transition.

Hey, I was told I can claim a PR as soon as I finish the race. Cry

Jokes apart, I thought of it as a good race. Being sick the entire race week, helped me to convince myself to slow down and just look forward to just finishing it.

Swim - I didn't enjoy swapping lanes under the lanes/buoy and even got bruised once on the shoulder. Also, did not like the fact that we had to get out of the pool and restart in lane 1.

Bike - The organizers did awesome, considering the weather. Only worry and I did have to slow down a couple times - Sweetwater st (?) still had vehicles, as it was a residential area and there were cars passing us in that narrow road. Kind of scary. I could barely see while I was pounding in that rain.

Run - I've self doubt about the correctness of the distance/ my time (I could be wrong). I never felt like I was running less than 9 min mile. I had calf strain from earlier that week and I wasn't pushing it either. I need to mention that there were these mind-blowing awesome volunteers (thanks to the lady at the end of the street managing the water booth) who stood out in the rain through out.

That being said,
--Although I'm still waiting my first OWS, I'm unsure I will prefer to do pool swim again to OWS. Undecided
--I think the race itself was well organized, specially considering the weather.
--No way to tell T1 and T2 times specifically, as they were clubbed with bike timings(so was I told). I'm not sure how I did.
--Post race activity was un-impressive, specially the fuel food. (Tried a raw banana and had to dump it)
--Still suggest this race as a first race to others; as I enjoyed it with certain reservations.

Finally, thanks to Tom (Fitzy), I did not have my helmet on while leaving T2. Tongue out And to the rest of BT friends, for being able to complete my first.

Good luck for March 14th.

Sounds like a typical sprint race, except for the rain. Usually the run leg at a tri family race is short. I'm not sure why, but I think it's common. The pool swim, going under the lane lines is always the case in sprint tris. You will get used to it, but th crowded pool will always be annoying. Great job and congrats on the PR.

The run was at least 1/4 mile short for the Maxi Sprint.

I could have kept the fried bananas much easily then some of those green non-ripened bitter stuff. May be I was picky; but hey I was hungry too.....
