Free K-Swiss Shoes to 70.3 Branson and Kansas Registrants

I received an email from the race director and the answer is below.  Whats the logic behind giving deals to people that wait to register?  

"sorry - this promo is only for new registrations."

I agree it's kind of a raw deal.  I registered early and got the discount at the time but they keep offering other discounts to get more people and dismissed the ones already signed up for the race.  Other races do that by offering drawings for gear for late registrations but not those already signed up.

I guess the moral of the story is that it's a business like anything else and they are out to make a buck.  I guess you can't hate on that.

But at least with comcast I called then and they gave me a temp discount for my cable for being loyal customer for 9 years... maybe I have to race the KS 1/2 IM for 9 years and we'll get some recognition...  =)
